WATERS COLLECTION by Joe Whittington

WATER'S COLLECTION was a fantastic art event at the beach, that I was able to coordinate. The audience participated by bringing plastic trash they collected from along the Miami Beach shoreline. I then used what was gathered and made an installation art sculpture out of it. A surprising large amount of trash was gathered. The Art made was very interesting, and it spoke volumes about the issues affecting our natural environment, and the need for better conservation. The final artwork was intended to be ephemeral. In the end, the artwork was sent to County's plastic recycling center for recycling. It was a lot of fun.

I made this poster for the event. It's not my best work, but it was effective in attracting a good number of spectators and participants.
