SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON

Sometimes it is not until you do a side-by-side comparison of your work to the actual, that can see what you got wrong. Before this moment it's about training your eyes to really, really see the world around you, all the slight shifts in tone and value from light to dark chiaroscuro, the proportions of foreshortening and how they really are, and relate to the other proportions next to them, opposed to how your mind wants to perceive them. Capturing energy maybe the most difficult thing to do and can almost not be taught in most academic settings.
